Spanking. It evokes many images and feelings. for some it is erotic for some it is discipline for some it is power. For some it is "friendly and playful" like tickling. It can be highly erotic or absolutely not sexual or BDSM oriented. Ms. Margaret Davis of the Spanking Society of New York speaks of the "types" of spankings in her online articles

Carson Fitzgerald offers a very personal view from the male spanker persepective in his article

The Gentlemanly Art of Spanking.

Additionally many people enjoy reading stories about spankings and the internet is amazingly chock full of fiction video and photos.

In seeking current links to the popular Spanking sites on line Allow me to share several that are active as of 2/23/05.

Spanking Connections in Texas

I am pleased vanilla-not .com was able to preserve some of the elements of the original C- Red spanking page from the mid-ninties. Having been alerted that this page was to evaporate I have reproduced this facsimile of it here on A D/s Web Center as all the links are worth keeping. Click here to link to the original Spanking FAQ if it is still up and running.

Welcome to the C-Red Spanking Resource!

A Brief History
Back in 1995, there was little information on spanking to be found outside of alt.sex.spanking. Yahoo had recently started it's search engine, but of the 5 or so spanking links there, the only link that still worked was a personal ad. There was a definite need to keep up with the rapid coming and going of spanking-related personal pages and commercial sites, as well as to have a central location for information and news.

During this time, the a.s.s. FAQ was a work in progress. It was occassionally posted to a.s.s., but in the days before AltaVista and DejaNews, a copy of it was hard to come by. This site served as the location for the FAQ as it was being developed, and was the official site when it became accepted as an Official Usenet FAQ!

With its accessibility and semi-anonymity, the web was a great medium to conduct a running survey on spanking interests. For two months in 1995, over 600 completed surveys were filled out, covering questions on general spanking preferences. The results were highly informative, and for me at least, it was yet another reassurance that there were other like-minded people out there.

But much time has passed since then. I have moved into a new career, and consequently have had less time to do the editing required to keep the information here current. Meanwhile, many stable web sites have cropped up, having more complete and up-to-date links than mine. I'm glad to have been there to help people find what they were looking for in the early days. But with so much more out there now, an infrequently-updated links page just doesn't do it justice.

Most significantly, the a.s.s. crowd has found a new home, in the Usenet group soc.sexuality.spanking. Devoid of the spam that had plagued a.s.s. in recent years, it is a joy to see the level of discussion back to a healthy level. I am honored to have played a role in crafting the charter for the group, which has the distinction of being the first soc.sexuality.* group to pass a Usenet-wide vote. Along with the new newsgroup, there is also a new FAQ, having much of the same information as in the a.s.s. FAQ. Importantly, this FAQ has received some much-needed updates, many of which paralleled ones I had been working on but had never managed to finish! I will keep around the old a.s.s. FAQ (for posterity's sake), but will make sure everyone is aware that a new FAQ, along with a new newsgroup, are out there waiting for eager newcomers.

In general, the home pages linked from this site have their own link pages, so be sure to bookmark some of them!

I'll still be around, mainly lurking. Without the responsibility of a web site, it will be tempting to move to an ISP which provides even the most basic of e-mail spam filtering (i.e., something other than the 'D' key). Till then, feel free to write and say Hi!

The C-Red Spanking Resource!

My goal is to make this a source for information and links, mainly related to topics from the alt.sex.spanking newsgroup on Usenet. Here you can find the latest version of the alt.sex.spanking FAQ (or just the text version). ( editor's note: sadly these files are no longer available)

The results of the Spanking Survey #1 are available! Statistics for all responses are also broken down by gender and by Top, Bottom or Switch respondents. The results of this survey may be used for commercial or non-commercial purposes, but read the conditions described on the Results page. I would like to thank all the respondents; judging from the data, it seems people took much care in making their choices as accurate as possible, and many included helpful suggestions and encouragement. Any ideas for the next survey?

I appreciate comments and suggestions about these pages and what else you would like to see. Whether you're a spanking aficionado or just curious, I hope you find what you are looking for!
