IRC (Internet Relay Chat)
D/s IRC Channel Listings
Folks are chatting with folks the world over! 24 / 7 Toto
I don't think we are on AOL any more!
You log onto your Internet Service Provider (ISP). you open
a software "client" on your computer for conducting
Chat. That software needs a "server" or computer on
the specific NET you wish to join. Software on Windows it is
Generally mIRC
or Pirch... On Mac, Ircle is a tried and true software package. there is also
stuff for unix irc.
Then you gotta decide which of a bunch of "NETS"
you will surf. UnderNet EF-NET DAl-Net are some popular examples.
Good software helps you there. SAINT's List below will
show many of the NETS and a list of Servers. The student
project paper has some good Diagrams for those of us right
brained souls who need to see to comprehend.
Each of these "NETS" lists hundreds of rooms some
more vulgar then your worst nightmare. Some as tame as a bible
study group or a quilting bee. ( though I have heard of some
pretty "juicy" quilting bees in small towns across
America!)
Here is a listing of Web links rock me and I dug up that try
to either help you get the software, find the right IRC "server
to hook up to, Or steer you to channels on one of the "NETS".
It is all precarious. so be patient and don't assume something
that works ( or doesn't) in one hour will be the same the next.
It ain't ma Bell. It Ain't AOL. . But it is is the people talking
with the people. And an experience like no other. Keep trying
and keep experimenting. Come back to this page if it isn't going
for you So here in no particular order are some links to learn
connect and learn from.
